We’ve had a busy past few days, with the Annual AILC Conference 2017 and the Children and Young People Now Awards this week.
We started the week off preparing for the Annual Association of Independent LSCB Chairs Conference 2017 which was held Tuesday 21 – Wednesday 22 November at Crewe Hall, Crewe. The conference was a great two days, full of many interesting conversations about what had been achieved in the Safeguarding Children world and the current options and opportunities available, as well as, of course, the expectations for what 2018 holds for Boards.
At Phew, we have built our Safeguarding products and services in collaboration with Boards, ensuring they are reactive to the current issues faced within the community; this will continue to be our strategy going forward, whatever each region’s decision may be. If you would like to discuss how we can work with your Board to aid any transition period, get in touch.
Our next stop on Wednesday night was at the CYP Now Awards, celebrating the successes achieved in the world of child protection. We were honoured to be sponsoring the Safeguarding Award, which had some inspirational finalists. The winners of the award were Newcastle City Council for their Sexual Exploitation Hub campaign, with a high commendation awarded to Spurgeons for their Phoenix Child Sexual Exploitation Project campaign. A full list of winners can be found at http://www.cypnawards.com/winners-2017. Congratulations to all!
