At Phew, we’re committed to making a positive impact not just through our services, but also through our actions. We’re excited to announce that we’ve recently donated our old office equipment to Sustainable Tech 4 Good (ST4G), an organisation dedicated to digital inclusion and environmental sustainability.

ST4G’s mission aligns perfectly with our values at Phew. By donating our equipment, we’re not only reducing electronic waste but also helping to bridge the digital divide in our communities.

The impact of ST4G’s work is truly remarkable. In July 2024 alone, they distributed 6,338 devices to people in need across the UK. These devices have made a significant difference in various areas:

  • Education: 1,573 devices went to organisations supporting education, including 51 to Bedford Borough Council for virtual schooling.
  • Refugee Support: 1,194 devices were provided to councils supporting refugees, with 515 going to the Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign, helping Ukrainian, Afghan, and Syrian refugees.
  • Adult Learning: 206 devices were given to Cambridge Online to support adult learning initiatives.
  • Mental Health Support: 89 devices were donated to the Cambridge Acorn Project for mental health services.

Beyond the social impact, ST4G’s work has significant environmental benefits. To date, they’ve saved 10,401 kg of electronic waste from landfills and prevented 1,356,332 kg of CO2 emissions.

By joining the Sustainable Digital Inclusion Revolution™, we at Phew are proud to contribute to these impressive figures. Our donation will help provide access to technology for those who need it most, while also supporting environmental sustainability.
