Website design and development
A brand new site for Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adult Board to enhance their online presence.
The Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board (OSAB) is a statutory group, bringing together public sector organisation operating in Oxfordshire to agree how best to work together to safeguard adults with care and support needs.
The group decides on the strategic direction of Safeguarding in Oxfordshire, runs multi-agency reviews of serious incidents and provides training to professionals on awareness of Safeguarding issues.
The primary focus for OSAB was to have their own dedicated website, rather than a page off the government website which is what they had at the time. Having previously worked with us creating the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board (OSCB) website, Board Manager Steve Turner wanted to replicate this design with a few new updates to layout and functionality.
The main requirements of the new site were to be easy-to-navigate, simple to use for both the user and admin team and fully responsive on all mobiles and tablets.
Drawing on our experience of working on OSCB and other Safeguarding Boards, we worked with Steve to build a new mobile responsive website that focused on simplicity and ease-of-use.
In-line with the Board’s request, the website was kept stripped back with only the relevant content and information displayed in a minimalist yet appealing layout, reflecting the OSAB brand in the colour scheme and tone.
The result was a new website that provides a range of useful information for people who may experience or be at risk of experiencing abuse. There is also a dedicated area for professionals, providing a wide range of information and guidance on protecting the adults using their services.
In response to the site, OSAB have had companies who have had no previous involvement with the group approach them and ask about advertising their service or linking their website to the OSAB website – highlighting that it is now reaching a further audience and is something people want to be a part of.
“The [new website] is far easier to navigate, easy to change the content on when we need to and the look and feel is so much better than the previous one… The time saved using WordPress instead of the previous clunky software along with the fact that it is so much better in look and feel and is getting much more traffic makes the cost worthwhile”.
“The new website has increased customer satisfaction with the OSAB’s online presence immensely. It’s allowed us to have a clear online platform for document sharing, saving time for the business unit as we don’t have to email out documents and can just direct people to our website”.
“Phew were very responsive to our needs, very knowledgeable about website design and able to provide expert opinion on the layout and functionality. As they’ve also created websites for other Safeguarding Boards they were able to point towards websites in other areas that we might want to consider as a template… I would definitely work with Phew again and would highly recommend them”.
