The Government look to the public to help by reporting terrorist and extremist material

A new campaign has been launched by the Government to put a stop to terrorist and extremist material online. In this new technological world we now live in there are so many opportunities for people with extreme views to target young or vulnerable adults.

The STOP Terrorists’ & Extremists’ Online Presence campaign focuses on removing any terrorist or extremist content from the internet and social media. They hope to achieve this by working with the public, asking them to report any concerns they have about anything they have seen.

As part of this process many Safeguarding related organisations are adding a STOP Terrorists’ & Extremists’ Online button to their website, with an aim of helping to strengthen the relationship between the public and the police. Milton Keynes Local Safeguarding Children’s Board is the latest of our clients to install the button on their website, take a look at mkscb.org.
