Our Operations Manager Kirsty celebrates a year at Phew

Date: Wednesday, 02nd Dec 2020 | Category: General

Our Operations Manager, Kirsty Hepburn, celebrated a year working at Phew last month. So, we thought we’d take the time to ask her how the first year as gone, some of her highlights of 2020 and what she has planned for next year.

Why did you decide to join the Phew team a year ago?

Kirsty: From my first meeting with Phew, I wanted to be part of the team. Matthews passion for creating solutions was infectious and by the end of the meeting I was already on board.

My background is in strategic risk management and compliance and I joined Phew in November 2019 to head up the Operations Team. Both information security and compliance are key business drivers at Phew, so I felt my experience would really add value to the team.

How have you found the past year?

Kirsty: Twelve months on and I can honestly say that Phew is the best company I have ever worked for! It’s the team spirit that sets it apart. We celebrate our successes together, but we also learn from our challenges. And we are always looking for new ways of working to improve our Client experience. Empathetic leadership really does get the best out of people and the Phew Team are testament to that!

What are your highlights from the past year?

Kirsty: Securing our ISO 270001 accreditation was a big highlight for me, as this reflects what a high level of security the company offers its clients, and that’s so important in our business. My second highlight was definitely winning innovation funding for the development of our discharge app, as this will hugely change the lives of both hospital workers and patients.

What have been the challenges?

Kirsty: I think this has been a particularly challenging year for everyone. But the amazing robustness of the team at Phew, and the great way we all communicate, has meant we have been able to continue delivering a great service to our customers throughout the pandemic.

What are you looking forward to over the next 12 months?

Kirsty: I’m looking forward to delivering an exciting new project to develop our PDMS system, as well as the continuous development of our Integrated Management System. But most of all, I am looking forward to when I can get back into the office again with the rest of the wonderful Phew team.
