Meeting website accessibility requirements

Date: Monday, 27th Feb 2023 | Category: Web Design & Development

Website accessibility is a legal requirement in the UK for both public and private sector organisations to ensure that their website or mobile app is accessible, by making it ‘perceivable, operable, understandable and robust’ so it can be used by as many people as possible.

Phew is committed to ensuring that websites delivered to clients are accessible and inclusive for as many users as possible. To reinforce this, Phew is proud to partner with Siteimprove to help ensure that your website continues to meet industry guidelines and benchmarks once it is live.

As a website client, you have the option to add Siteimprove to your contract at any time. By doing so, the team will ensure that your website is continuously meeting accessibility standards, plus you will benefit from the following:

  1. An initial check which will review your current accessibility standard
  2. Training provided by Phew to demonstrate how to get the best out of Siteimprove
  3. A monthly summary report which provides you with visibility of the accessibility score, detailing challenges, and helpful tips for making content compliant
  4. Support in understanding the report and how to maintain compliance.

Once Siteimprove has been added to your contract, you will be provided with a login so you can access it at any time. The information is displayed in a user-friendly way and will display if any accessibility updates are required.
