Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership

How Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) reduced training administration time by 85%, whilst increasing the number of delegate bookings by 230%, using Phew’s Learning Management System.

The ChallengeSomerset Safeguarding Children Partnership Goal

The SSCP holds the responsibility for the oversight of multi-agency partnership safeguarding arrangements, which includes the dissemination of learning and information to all agencies and individuals who come into contact with children.

All training and events were organised through a manual system which was immensely time-consuming and severely restricted any expansion of the training offer.

Learning opportunities were also offered by partner agencies, however there were no effective means to coordinate and signpost to them, resulting in a fragmented training offer and practitioners often unaware that quality opportunities existed, or being informed of them in an ad-hoc manner.

The Solution

Phew consulted with SSCP to configure our innovative LMS to their bespoke requirements through a series of workshops. The LMS seamlessly integrated into SSCP’s website for ease of access, with branding consistency to ensure a cohesive booking journey.

The Results

SSCP immediately saw results once they adopted the Phew LMS. It had a profound effect on the ability to disseminate learning across all agencies, as well as leading to greater capacity and creativity in doing so.

Reporting through the LMS has also proved to be highly effective through its easily accessible format which allows targeted information to be instantly available and highlights areas of further partnership development, which previously would have entailed a laborious manual trawl in order to obtain accurate information.

Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership results

The implementation of the Phew LMS has completely transformed the ability to disseminate learning across the Partnership, brought about closer agency collaboration, and enabled the expansion and coordination of training across the county.

The ability of the Phew team to listen and respond to ideas and suggestions ensures that the system is continually developed, which results in a comprehensive training offer without the need for additional capacity or significant investment.
